Moyes converting players position - Lanzini to CM
He turned Arnie and Antonio into strikers and I would even argue he turned Soucek from CDM to a box to box midfielder with goals.

Is he going to do the same with Lanzini like he turned Arteta from winger into CM at Everton.

most fans thought Lanzini would be sold in the summer but maybe he can resurrect his West Ham career.

Fraser, Moyes also knows to qualify for the champs league we probably need to win our last games, he has to go out to win not sit back and hit teams on the break, that’s way the change in formation.

brundal - very true, Noble kept getting the ball deep and looking frustrated as nobody to hit.. Easier when the team isn't set up negatively as we were at Newcastle.

Lanzini is a good player in the right system, with Lingard , Beni and Antonio making forward runs you need someone in that position to pick out the pass and Lanzini did just that against Burnley.

I'm all for it. I have never thought he was lazy. He was simply unlucky with injuries. Good luck to him.

I think it makes sense, Lanzini seems to of lost his pace for playing on the wing.
Has the ability to play the Brooking role of picking out a pass
Only worry is since coming back from injury he has lost his bottle to go in on 50/50 balls hopefully this will come back if he plays enough.

Will live in my memory for ever with that stupendous last kick of the game against Tottscum.

Mr Polite, when referring to the Captain do you mean the club Captain or our starting eleven one?

Pablo is definitely a natural footballer. I'm just not sure if he's a natural runner. He lollops along like the hunchback of Notre Dame.

If there was a positive & negative thread done on Moyes, like the ones a brilliant and well missed poster used to start, I don’t think on balance, he would be credited for a decision that was forced on him.

Biggest positive would the team spirit that has been built that even though Lanzini and others have been left out of team, at times for lesser players, that they don’t seemed to have sulked and when called on, they’ve performed.

Can’t remember the last time a team of ours has felt this together. Credit has to go to the Captain too.

Stalker alert! That calorie deficit making you grumpy again?

Hey nutsack why don’t you tell everyone how Fornals “isn’t a natural footballer”?

Hey Goose,
Why don’t you tell us all again what a mistake It was to hire Moyes and sign Lingard.

Lanzini did so well the other night if Rice is not fit it has to be the same starting 11

Re: Moyes converting players position - Lanzini to CM
if lanzini put in that performance against a soppy ball playing side and we had burnley the next week, everyone would be talking about how it's alright to play like that against the lightweights but if you put him in there against a physical team like burnley, he'd get bullied out of the game.

Decent post that. Chim.
Not sure I'd go quite so overboard in the Moyes love-in but I get the sentiment. Most importantly, the players seem to want to play for him.

I liked Lanzini before his knee knack.

But he's been poor since, at least in his preferred position. He's only had one good game in that unfamiliar role, but played well - no doubt about that. I wouldn't get too carried away, but if we find that he's a decent CM then good. He's been with us since 2015, and it'll be good to see him playing back at his old level.

I think that the return of Cresswell has been far too understated in our win at Burnley.

Left back is the only real position Moyes can't adjust another player to fill in when he's injured.

I'm loving Moyes. I honestly wouldn't pick another manager in the world to manage us at the moment. If you think that some of the things he's done are happenstance (like Noble being injured) you are clearly missing a gene. How he could have taken a woefully underfunded side without a striker this far is frankly amazing.

It's the first time in a long time I've loved being a West Ham supporter. I thought SBG had sucked all the love of the team I have supported my entire life out of me but Moyes has restored my faith despite of the cunts who run the club.

also as mentioned Burnley didn't have midfield hence why they just bypassed it with their long ball tactic.

still think Noble plays well as was not too shabby in the previous games he played in.

But this gives us a different option again.

Re: Moyes converting players position - Lanzini to CM
What impressed me the other night was that he was always moving, always on the go, and always available and when he received it, his first thought was to pass it quickly "forward". I still think he has some pace, certainly a change of pace, and that's what stands him out from Noble as unlike Nobes Lanzini can beat a player or get out of tight situations with a quick change of pace. Certainly I would keep him but I guess the question is does he want to stay?
